Dear Parishioners:
Life is full of endings and beginnings some have finished one school and are about to start another while others have completed one job are about to progress to a different one. However, September not only marks the end of the holidays and the beginning of the academic year but also the beginning of the new ecclesiastical year.
It is therefore with this thought of new beginnings that I write to inform you of some of the new ministries and programs that we are planning to start this fall.
From Wednesday 28th September the youth and children of our parish will have an evening each month for religious education, socializing and prayer. At present it will be on the last Wednesday of each month at 6:00pm and will be open to all ages.
On the third Wednesday of each Month beginning in October there will be a lecture on some aspect of the orthodox faith.
After the service on Sunday 25th September there will be a meeting of all those ladies who are interested in re-establishing a Philoptochos chapter here at Sts. Constantine and Helen. If you are unable to attend this meeting but are interested in being involved with Philoptochos please let me know.
Please note that some time in October or November we are planning on having a Come and See/Back to Church Sunday weekend. For those people who are interested in the Orthodox Church and for those who are orthodox but have drifted away from the church. We are going to need a lot of help over that weekend so please be ready to lend a hand. So as they say watch this space.
Perhaps more than anything else, however, our little orthodox community in Monroe needs your prayers as we start this new ecclesiastical year and move forward with faith and Thanksgiving into the future with our Lord God and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Eudokimos-Martin Harding
